Ahhh... Luminato!

I'm just starting to process my pics from the Luminato installation in the Allen Lambert Galleria at Brookfield Place.

Here's a preview:

I find that this galleria lends itself strongly to highly visual, large scale, installations. The reflective nature of the end caps extend the space for additional depth, and the arches contribute to the feeling of "lift" that gazing up imbues on the viewer.

iPhone 3.0 software update: "business user" highlight summary / refresher

A quick overview of what I thought were the more “business” focused features of the new iPhone 3.0 software release. This is by no means comprehensive, but I think it covers the key features that many corporate users have been waiting for.

The video is from the initial Apple presentation of the new updated 3.0 platform and there is a large segment on 3rd party games and applications. I’ve provided a time index reference to the latter part of the presentation that focuses on native platform enhancements.

I’m certainly going to be upgrading as soon as I can on this. Hopefully Apple will release this in mid-June, rather than waiting for the end of the summer!

Sometimes it feels like we need reminders about the nature that tries to survive in the increasing concrete confines of the city.

In the west end of the city, remnants of the rapidly vanishing industrial manufacturing complex that was once the main wealth generator for Toronto and the surrounding region. I suspect that there will be more sights like this as the cost of mass manufacturing in the first world becomes too high a price to pay for any company.

Perhaps we are at the cusp of a revolution the like of which we have not seen since the industrial world crossed the steam to electricity divide.
